Tonight, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Memphis Grizzlies in a fair forceful game, ending with a score of 98-91. Blake Griffin was the leading man for the Clippers with 20 points and eight assists, as Chris Paul (former Charlotte Hornet member) who recently returned from an injury, landed 18 points. On the board read 29-17 as Memphis's Rudy Gay closed the first quarter with a shocking, impressive 50-foot three-pointer taken from half court intervening with the sound of the buzzer. Additionally, he carried his team with 24 points. Second quarter was intense as the score relentlessly fluctuated and both teams kept meeting with a tie. Halftime began with the Clippers up, 45-44.
The Grizzlies did their best to stay up with their challengers, but were not so competent. Throughout the game, Blake suffered two injuries, while Caron Butler gave 17 point to the team.
Marc Gasol scored 18 points and lead Memphis for their rebounds with his 11.
When asked how methodical must Los Angeles remain in order to prevail, Paul answered, "Give better defense, we've got to execute." This seems to be doing just the trick because they walked away chipper with another win.
Los Angeles are 9-2 thus far this season.
Look what little birdie sat court side dissecting the game: RIHANNA *smiles*
Billy Crystal was also present cheering on the Clippers from the sidelines.
