Being "Snubbed"...

It is far-fetched that African-Americans receive the proper acclaim for their astounding performances come time for award season. So, when it is acknowledged I feel elated, not that other actors of different ethnicity's are not deserving of the honor, it's just actors of color are occasionally snubbed. This year's 2012 Golden Globes showed recognition to two talented African-American actors. Octavia Spencer received Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role for her portrayal as "Minny" in the nominated Best Picture "The Help". This film divulged in African-American maids viewpoint on the repititive mistreat, while toiling in Caucasian households of the 1960s. Everyone in the building just knew Viola Davis had Best Actress in the bag, including Meryl Streep who won abruptly. She filched the category twice due to her commendable labor and 15 nominations, others sharing the same category each occurrence, panicked.
Still, Idris Elba nabbed the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-series or Motion Picture Made for Television for "Luther". Lastly, Morgan Freeman was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award of the night which brought the whole audience to a standing ovation as he thanked his fellow friends/actors Sidney Portier and Helen Mirren. The Academy Awards are scheduled to close the award season mid-February and hopefully, my craving is for new worthy greenhorns to be honored, is noshed.
