Today was any one's game when contenders New York Knicks and Boston Celtics gravitated to the hoop, hungry.
This afternoon contained several highlights happening on the court. One, Rajon Rondo had a momentous triple-double as the Celtics rebelled from a late deficit, Kevin Garnet held a chain of concurrent blocks, while Amar'e Stoudmiere did a 360 to the rim. Lastly, Paul Pierce achieved a season high of 34 points for Celtics fourth straight victory.
Carmelo Anthony loomed onto the court, after sitting out due to a difficult groin mischief. He pinned 27 points.
First quarter ended with 29-27.
Boston relentlessly caused Jeremy Lin agony with a series of nicks throughout the game.
Steve Novak executed the 2nd quarter with one of his unremittingly successful 3-jumpers, while Anthony rested. He barely picks up recognition, but averaged out 13 points and his contributions dawned on the scoreboard. New York chewed Boston and spitting them out showing off at the apex of the ring. The Knicks movement saddled on the Celtics with the lead by 10 (46-36).
In the first half, New York shot 56 percent and sealed halftime ahead by five. 56-51
In the 3rd, Knicks offense was out of order unlike previous sectors. The players appeared mute on the bench, instead of on their toes gloating. Boston dominated!
The closing chapter was the most keen fraction, as the pressure was on. Knicks turned things around, seeming to have another in the bag until Pierce accelerated tying it up with a 3-pointer; forcing overtime. Anthony defaulted on a possible 3 with just seconds, before the buzzer. The score then was 103-103.
Lin helped Knicks expunge the 15-point deficit, but made one field goal during OT.
Rondo fought back and controlled OT leaving with 18 points, 20 assists, and 17 rebounds.
"I'm just playing. The biggest thing is we got the win. Paul made that shot to send us into overtime and that was big for us. You know, if you get those type of numbers and you lose, it's kind of irrelevant." -Rondo speaks on triple-double beam.
Final score: 115-111
